After knowing her for 15 years,I always knew that when the day came when I was to get married Emily would be the one to capture our big day. Emily is so dedicated to photography that she is willing to sleep in her car in -10 conditions all night just so she could capture all of our special day! Emily is a truly wonderful, dedicated, friendly and warm young woman. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting her and having her photograph our wedding day. Our 2011 winter (and we mean winter) wedding at Dansey’s Pass Coach Inn, Central Otago was, we imagine, a huge challenge to shoot; Snow crept past gumboot level, leaving a very chilly bridal party and photographer shivering outside, still determined to get that shot, despite changed photo locations! Her creative spirit, artistic flare, wonderful personality and boundless energy resulted in FABULOUS photographs (LOTS of photographs). They were everything we had hoped for and more. When we got married in December, we chose Tarras in Central Otago. We were so happy with the job she did of the photos! From the offset, we were impressed by the fact she was so capable, professional and very reasonably priced. She was able to give us examples of her work and an idea of what might expect on the day, which was great for our wedding planning. She had heaps of great ideas but at the same time, was very receptive to the things we wanted. The one big concern I had about photographers was how they interacted with my family. I have a large Cook Island family and I needed someone who was going to be able to manage us all while also showing the appropriate courtesy and respect. Emily has fantastic interpersonal skills so she was able to get great photographs of my family, and the more camera-shy members of the grooms party. Throughout the day she demonstrated an energetic and positive attitude and made everyone feel comfortable. The final photographs were fantastic! She has a great eye for scenery - the bridal party shots were really polished set amongst the Bendigo hills. Because my family is so important to me, I was really glad she took the time to get some great candid shots of everyone during the ceremony and reception. These have left us with some great memories of what happened on the day. Everyone who has seen the photographs has been really impressed by them, ourselves included. We could not have asked for a better photographer for our day and we cannot thank her enough.!!

Organising a wedding in Dunedin from Wellington was always going to be a challenge, but sorting out our photography with Emily Cannan, however, was a breeze. Emily sent us examples of her work and met with us when we made it to Dunedin for Christmas. She was professional and unobtrusive during the ceremony and the post-ceremony photo session went like clockwork because she had taken the time to research all the locations in advance to get the best angles for the shots. We had a strong Scottish theme to our wedding and the locations and styles of shots Emily chose reflected this. Everybody we have shared the photos with has been amazed by the beauty and quality of the photos. We ourselves are over the moon and the only hard part now is deciding which ones to frame since they are all so amazing. Emily Cannan was my photographer in Dunedin on my NZ tour in 2009.
